Responsibilities Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner as they approach the bar Protect the establishment and patrons by strictly adhering to company policy as well as all state/local Health Department regulations, sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies Maintain professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards Present menus to guests and promote specials and/or specialty house drinks Check guest identification to ensure they meet the minimum age requirement for consumption of alcoholic beverages Efficiently operate restaurant equipment (e.g. telephone, juice machine, soda fountain, etc.) Maintain knowledge of the menu items and assist guests by explaining how various menu items are prepared Take guest orders, communicate orders to kitchen, and serve food and beverages in a friendly and professional manner Periodically check on guests to ensure all needs and expectations are being met Continuously monitor guests for potential intoxication and determine when alcohol service should cease Adhere to all bar related TIPS safety training protocols Utilize Point of Sale (POS) and registers to accurately run tabs, prepare checks, and successfully record all financial transactions Store and stock refrigerators, ice machines, cups, straws, napkins and other service items as needed Sanitize and clean service areas, bar tops, and surrounding bar areas, as needed Manage to‑go orders and retrieve them from the kitchen, as needed Promptly escalate any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or emergencies to the proper authorities All other duties assigned by leadership Qualifications No formal education required 1+ years of bartender experience desirable (not required) Experience with alcoholic beverage serving and associated regulations helpful Must be TIPS certified or obtain certification within 30 days of hire Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; bilingual Spanish or other languages a plus Must be at least 18 years old (Iowa Child Labor Laws) Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Must be able to work until later hours of the night Reliable transportation to and from scheduled shift Compliance with uniform policies Prohibition of on‑job alcohol consumption Safety‑oriented mindset and adherence to state and local beverage regulations Exceptional customer service skills and ability to resolve questions, problems, and concerns positively Ability to engage guests to promote sales and satisfaction Experience with POS technology and PCI compliance a plus Capacity to follow direction, multitask, and work independently as part of a team Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders Ability to remain sedentary for periods of time while using a computer or POS Ability to withstand heat and humidity from food preparation equipment Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more Ability to use step stools as needed Working Conditions Based in one or more F&B and/or restaurant locations throughout the park, with exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments Frequent exposure to variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, and ice Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments Subject to frequent handling of cleaning chemicals and detergents Subject to frequent interruptions and requests requiring reprioritization of activities Benefits Flexible schedule Ability to cross‑train and learn unique skills across various departments Free admission to Adventureland Theme Park/Waterpark and select parks on days off Invitations to exclusive company‑sponsored host events throughout the season #J-18808-Ljbffr
