Store Housewares Processor

Location 41937 Ford Road,Canton, MI, 48187,United States Base Pay $14.00 - $16.69 / Hour Employee Type FT Non-Exempt Position Summary: Our store housewares processors are responsible for sorting, evaluating and pricing all donated housewares and electronics that go to the sales floor of the store. You'll need a good eye for quality. And some knowledge of common housewares and electronics won't hurt! This is an important role in our retail stores and is eligible for healthy incentive pay based on the sales of the housewares that you process. Position Duties: Sort donated housewares and electronics by quality. Price donated housewares and electronics and, as needed, prepare them for placement on the sales floor. Other duties, as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED: Any combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the job.

Ability to work with others collaboratively to achieve a shared goal. Ability to work within established guidelines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires standing and walking and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, and reaching with hands and arms. Requires frequent lifting and moving of light items, up to 10 pounds, and occasional lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds. May be required to stand for entire shift.

MENTAL DEMANDS:

Requires energetic, team-oriented individual with a positive "can-do" attitude and an ability to understand, accept and work with people who have disabilities and/or other barriers to employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mix of donation, production, and retail environments. Usually fast-paced.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must have excellent interpersonal skills and values that reflect the organization’s mission and values. Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and appearance at all times. Must be 16 years of age or older. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, extended hours and holidays. Must pass a background check.
