Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Labor & Delivery unit will provide specialized care to obstetric patients during pregnancy and childbirth. This position demands strong clinical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and collaboration with multiple healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients in labor and support during the birthing process.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess maternal and fetal health.
• Administer medications and perform interventions as needed.
• Document patient care and updates accurately in the electronic health record system (Meditech).
• Provide education and support to new families regarding infant care and safety.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Active Texas RN license (temporary licenses will not be accepted).
• Fetal Monitoring certification is required (AWHONN).
