Hematology/Oncology Physician

Hematology/Oncology Physician Locum Tenens Location: Wheaton, MD Start Date: August 11, 2025 (or as soon as credentialed) Duration: Ongoing Schedule & Availability • Outpatient Clinic: 3 5 days/week (8-hour shifts, day coverage) • Inpatient Call: 7 consecutive 24-hour shifts/per month • Call Ratio: 1:4 • Options: M-W-F + 7 days of call or M-F + 7 days of call Rate Structures • Clinic Hourly Rate • Combined Clinic + 24-Hour Call (includes at least 8 gratis hours) • Weekend Call (includes at least 4 gratis hours) Position Highlights • Adult and geriatric population • Practice mix: 75% Oncology, 25% Hematology • Average: 10 outpatients/day (Clinic/Office) , 2 inpatient rounding patients/day (Call/Rounding) • Support staff includes: Patient Navigator, Social Worker, MA, Practice Manager • Interpreters available for Spanish-speaking patients • EMR: Epic • Credentialing: 90 days, with potential for expedited privileges Clinical Duties • Outpatient and inpatient hematology/oncology care • Tumor board participation • Order labs, imaging, prescribe medications • Required procedures: Chemotherapy (Intracavitary, Intrathecal) FNA/Biopsy VAD/CV catheter management Facility & Support • No chemo on-site infusion center located 2 miles away • Current Team: 0.5 FTE Hem/Onc, 1.0 FTE Breast Surgeon, 1.0 FTE Surgical Oncologist, 2.0 FTE Radiation Oncologists Requirements • MD License, DEA, and CDS • Board Certified or Board Eligible • BLS or ACLS • Must indicate preference for 3 or 5 days/week in submission
