IT Intern

Position Overview The Software Developer co‑op will work with local IT staff and corporate application development team, assisting with the development, testing, deployment, and quality assurance of various business applications. The role includes requirements gathering, data mapping and conversion, custom coding, and testing. This co‑op is available for the Summer/Fall 2026 semesters. Principal Accountabilities Assist development staff with building and testing application programs. Perform coding, quality assurance, and testing. Write reports. Basic Qualifications Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0. Permanent U.S. resident, no sponsorship required. Current sophomore year student enrolled at one of the participating universities: Mississippi State University, The University of Mississippi, Auburn University, University of Alabama, University of South Alabama, University of Maine, University of North Carolina State, University of Miami Ohio, Georgia Tech. Major in Computer Science, CIS, or equivalent. Certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) are a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and AutoCAD. Preferred Qualifications Experience in programming and web development with Microsoft .NET framework (VB.NET/C#, ASP.NET), CSS, JavaScript. Experience with MS SQL Server, MS Visual Studio, MS Office, and MS Report Builder. Skills & Abilities Work well under pressure, meet time constraints, multi‑task, build relationships with internal and external customers. Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills. Capable of independent decision making through creative problem solving amid ambiguity and change. Handle multiple requests simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment. Read and understand technical correspondence, memos, instructions, and reports. Apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining safety. Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities. Strong planning and follow‑up skills. Excellent people and process management skills. Compensation & Benefits Starting salary range for position: Sophomore $18.00 per hour , Junior $21.00 per hour , Senior $24.00 per hour . Paid holidays. Within first 30 days, eligible to enroll in medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
