Dietary Aide - Full TimeAssist Dietary Cooks in the preparation and service of meals served to residents by performing the proper procedures as outlined by state and federal regulations.Responsibilities:Assists in the preparation of food in quantities according to the menu, recipe and number of persons to be servedSets up dining room as instructedPrepares items such as salads and beveragesTakes resident orders in dining room and serves meals to residents in a timely mannerCleans resident eating areas, work areas, equipment and utensils according to the proper proceduresCollects and stacks dirty dishes on cart and returns cart to kitchenWashes cooking equipment, carts, pots, pans, dishes and utensilsCleans eating and prep surfaces, sweeps and mops floorRemoves garbageStores food in designated areasResponsible for care of food service equipmentWork cooperatively with food service staff and other departmentsAssume Quality Assurance duties as assignedConsistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providersReports any issues or problems that may arise to Dietary ManagerComplies with state and federal sanitation standardsQualifications:Ability and readily available to work either shift dependent upon the daily needs of the departmentAbility to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform kitchen tasks safelyPrevious experience serving meals in healthcare environmental services preferredLanguage Ability – to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondenceWritten Communication – Writes clearly and informatively; able to read and interpret written information.Verbal Communication - Talks to others to convey information effectivelyMath Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsReasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
