Job Description
The Assembler operates and supports machining and assembly processes to produce high-quality parts and finished products in a sneeze guard manufacturing facility. This role sets up and runs basic machine operations, performs precision measurements, assembles components, and prepares final products for shipment while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Responsibilities

• Perform basic start-up and shut-down procedures for machine operations, including loading materials into machining equipment.
• Set up tooling and make basic machine adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and productivity.
• Inspect machined parts both visually and dimensionally to ensure they meet production standards and specifications.
• Polish and apply finishes to parts using a variety of equipment and tools as required.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, CAD drawings, and production documentation to perform assigned tasks accurately.
• Use calipers, gauges, and dial indicators to measure and verify part dimensions during and after machining.
• Assemble parts into sub-assemblies and final products according to specifications and work instructions.
• Package assembled products appropriately for shipping, ensuring accuracy and protection of materials.
• Recognize and report any machine malfunctions, part discrepancies, or quality issues to the department leader or manager immediately.
• Perform basic machine maintenance, including cleaning equipment and adding oils and coolants as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, following all safety guidelines and housekeeping standards.
• Assist in the shop as needed, supporting other production and assembly activities with hand tools and related equipment.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in assembly work in a production or industrial environment.
• At least 1 year of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• At least 2 years of experience using hand tools, including calipers and gauges, in a manufacturing or mechanical setting.
• Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and CAD drawings.
• Ability to use calipers, gauges, and dial indicators to perform precise measurements.
• Ability to perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and start-up/shut-down procedures.
• Strong attention to detail in visual and dimensional inspection of parts.
• Ability to recognize and promptly report machine malfunctions and part discrepancies.
• Capability to perform basic machine maintenance, including cleaning and adding oils and coolants.
• Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preferably previous experience using calipers in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Preferably previous experience operating machines in an industrial environment.
• Comfort working with various hand tools and finishing equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and production documentation.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in machining and assembly processes.

Work Environment
The role is based in a sneeze guard manufacturing facility that focuses on precision machining, finishing, and assembly of protective products. You work around industrial machinery, finishing equipment, and standard hand tools, following established safety procedures and housekeeping standards. The environment requires adherence to safety protocols, use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and maintaining a clean, organized workstation. Work is performed on the production floor, with regular interaction with machines, measuring devices such as calipers and gauges, and packaging materials used to prepare products for shipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Antioch, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
