Position Summary

Variety Companies is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and results-driven professional to join our team as a Customer Sales & Service Representative (CSSR).

This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished sales professional who excels at developing new business, building long-term customer relationships, and managing key accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business-to-business (B2B) sales, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the confidence to engage with business owners, executives, and decision-makers.

This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must meet the minimum education and professional sales experience requirements to be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

• Proactively identify, prospect, and pursue new business opportunities throughout our service territory.
• Develop relationships with business owners, plant managers, human resources professionals, and other key decision-makers.
• Conduct professional in-person sales presentations and facility visits.
• Build, maintain, and actively manage a qualified sales pipeline.
• Negotiate and close new business opportunities.
• Consistently meet established sales activity and performance expectations.

Account Management & Customer Retention

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for key accounts.
• Conduct scheduled customer visits and quarterly account reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, expand services, and strengthen account relationships.
• Proactively identify and address potential customer retention concerns.
• Coordinate with internal operations and service teams to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.

Performance & Accountability

• Complete a minimum of 10 in-person prospect and customer visits per week.
• Maintain an organized and active sales pipeline.
• Provide regular updates on sales activities, opportunities, and results.
• Conduct monthly touchpoints with assigned key accounts.
• Complete quarterly account reviews as required.
• Demonstrate strong time management, organization, and independent decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications — Required

Applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements:

• Education: Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Sales Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional business-to-business (B2B) sales experience, preferably in outside sales, business development, or territory sales.
• Proven Sales Performance: Demonstrated experience prospecting, developing new business relationships, delivering sales presentations, and successfully closing new accounts.
• Professional Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate confidently with business owners and senior-level decision-makers.
• Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term professional customer relationships.
• Technology Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and experience utilizing CRM systems or other sales management tools.
• Independent Work: Ability to manage a territory, prioritize responsibilities, and consistently meet performance expectations without constant supervision.
• Transportation: Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned service territory.

Candidates whose experience is limited primarily to retail sales, cashiering, or general customer service without demonstrated B2B sales experience will not meet the minimum qualifications for this position.
