Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Nurse in Hawaii. This position involves floating between various medical and surgical units, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The role requires flexibility, professionalism, and adherence to unit-specific training and protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour shifts Days (0645 to 1915) Scheduled 36 hours per week following first week of orientation. No guarantee of hours.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Hawaii nursing license by start of assignment, BLS certification, 2-10 years of experience, proficiency with Meditech electronic medical records, Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes.
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification; PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC certifications.
• Additional Information: Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to attend employee health appointment on Friday. No exemption requests for immunity will be accepted; candidates must have documentation of immunity. Orientation time is provided for each unit. Floating to other units/departments including the Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and on rare occasions, the Cardiovascular Unit. Bed sizes: Medical 77, Laulima (surgical acute) 18, Cardiovascular 15. Nurse to patient ratio: Medical 1:6 for days and evenings, 1:8 for nights; Laulima 1:6; Cardiovascular 1:4.
• Schedule: 12-hour days, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Location: 1190 Waianuenue Avenue, Hilo, Hawaii, 96720.
