About the Role

The Company is in search of a VP Underwriter for Financial Institutions Professional Lines (FI) in the US. This senior-level, individual contributor role is pivotal in the technical execution and market engagement of the FI segment. The successful candidate will be a cornerstone technical expert, responsible for the full lifecycle of the most complex risks, including proactive business solicitation, broker marketing, technical analysis, and deal structuring. Key responsibilities include active underwriting of high-complexity risks such as banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and private equity firms, as well as representing the company at industry events to enhance its presence in the specialty insurance market. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years' of technical underwriting experience in the Financial Institutions sector, with a proven track record of building and maintaining a profitable book of business. The role demands advanced skills in analyzing financial statements and credit risk profiles, superior negotiation abilities, and a self-motivated, tech-savvy, and highly organized approach. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, autonomous professional with a growth mindset, capable of challenging conventional thinking to drive innovation, and will operate with a high level of integrity in a collaborative, long-term, and strategic manner. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, and professional certifications related to the position are a plus.
