PCH Fellow Physician

Job Details: Lake Street Family Health Center – OAK PARK, IL 60302, Full Time, Salary Range: $70,000 annually, Travel: None, Shift: Day, Category: Health Care, Position: Fellow Physician Perinatal and Child Health (PCH) General Statement of Duties The Physician shall work full‑time in the PCH Fellowship Program of PCC, performing duties as outlined below. Employment status will be based on an average of eight (8) 4‑hour sessions per week, calculated based on sessions documented with the Clinic Medical Director. Specific Statement of Duties PCH Call Participate equally as scheduled; assist with finding coverage when needed. Stay in touch, maintain awareness of the entire service at all times, and collaborate with the PCH attending. Perform pre‑op assignment (history, diagnosis, attending preferences, etc.). Dictate and write operative notes and post‑op orders. Round daily post‑op until discharge, completing daily notes and coordinating with 1° OB or PCH resident. Assist with post‑call procedures, discharge planning, and attend rounds when possible. Participate equally in neo/peds oversight and gynecology surgery. Participate in post‑partum rounding. Complete two obstetrics emergency drills. PCH Seminar – Wednesdays (8:00a.m.–1:30p.m.) C‑Section/M&M Chart Review. PCH Didactics: review and present journal articles, fellowship faculty presentations, and fellows’ didactic topics. Case conference: emphasize labor management, operative challenges, high‑risk patient and neo/peds cases of interest, and review fetal heart tracings. Care Management Raise questions for project or best‑practice guidelines and attend case management on all sites Wednesdays 1:30p.m.–5:00p.m. PCH Manual Guidelines Update the electronic PCH manual in conjunction with fellowship directors, if time allows. Maternal‑Infant Mortality Conference – 2nd Tuesday, 8:00a.m. Rotate monthly to present cases; all attend. Dictate summary of all transfers, morbidities, and mortalities. Review questions prior to the meeting with the M&M chairperson. OB Department Meeting – 2nd Friday, 8:00a.m. Joint Practice Meeting – 1st Tuesday, 8:00a.m. Project and Best Practice Guideline Develop and solve a PCH problem. Present findings at the Faculty Development Seminar. Complete projects such as quality improvement, chart review on clinical questions, literature review with PCH manual update, protocol development, and educational videos for residents and patients. Outpatient LDRP Follow‑Up Review labs/culture results for PCH antepartum/triage patients seen as outpatient and provide appropriate follow‑up and documentation. Primary Clinics Complete designated number of clinic sessions (including continuity clinic and PCH specialty clinics) as determined by the Site Medical Directors, Fellowship Directors, and CMO. Schedule in collaboration with the call schedule and under direction of the site director or designee. PCH Fellowship Curriculum Fellow must comply with the PCH Fellowship Curriculum and meet criteria for advancement. Fellows must present two resident lectures regarding the PCH curriculum during their fellowship year. Procedures Fellows must complete the designated number of procedures (surgical, ultrasound, etc.) as determined by the fellowship directors. Evaluations Fellows must have 40 clinical evaluations and 20 surgical evaluations completed. Fellows must also conduct 40 attending evaluations on PCH faculty quarterly throughout the fellowship year.
