Locum Neurosurgeon Opportunity in Ohio

A Level 1 Trauma Center in Ohio is seeking a Neurosurgeon to provide locum coverage. This role includes trauma-focused neurosurgical procedures with both adult and pediatric cases, supported by APPs and residents for comprehensive patient care.

Practice Highlights

• Level 1 Trauma Center hospital-only coverage
• 24-hour call with onsite call back
• 2 hours daily rounding (approx. 8 AM 10 AM)
• Onsite support: 2 Neurosurgery APPs (6a6p) + 1 Resident (6p6a)
• Coverage Dates:
  • 2025: Dec 19 Dec 25
  • 2026: 1 week per month

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified / Eligible in Neurosurgery REQUIRED
• Active Ohio Medical License (or IMLC eligible / in process REQUIRED)
• BLS & ACLS REQUIRED
• DEA License REQUIRED
• Must be available for December 2025 dates REQUIRED
• Competencies:

  • ICP or EVD monitoring & placement

  • Spinal instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar) REQUIRED

  • Spinal surgery without instrumentation REQUIRED

  • Pediatric emergent cranial trauma (craniotomy/craniectomy, ICP monitor placement) Preferred

  • Tumors Preferred

  • VP Shunt Preferred

Schedule & Coverage

• 24-hour call coverage (onsite callback required)
• Morning rounding: 2 hours daily (810 AM)

• No outpatient responsibilities

• Ongoing 2026 need: 1 week per month
