This position supports the physical plant by installing, maintaining, and repairing structural, electrical, and plumbing systems across the Danville State Hospital campus. As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Grounds Care: Maintain outdoor areas by mowing, seeding, pruning, and removing debris or snow
• Carpentry Work: Build and repair forms, walls, ceilings, cabinets, and other structural components
• Painting Tasks: Prepare surfaces and apply paints or varnishes to maintain clean and safe conditions
• Electrical Repairs: Replace switches, receptacles, wiring, and related components throughout the facility
• Plumbing Duties: Open clogged drains, install fixtures, and repair water and heat systems
• Safety Compliance: Complete required training and follow procedures for asbestos, confined spaces, and equipment lockout

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
• Overtime as operationally necessary
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility:

• Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
