Job Opportunity – Neuro Intensive Care Unit RN – North Carolina

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required. Nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1, with potential to flex to 3:1 during high census periods. Floating within facility required as needed.

Highlights:

• Comprehensive Stroke Center with primary focus on stroke patients (ischemic and hemorrhagic), post-neurosurgery, craniotomies, and critical neuro conditions
• Average daily census of 11-12 patients in a 13-bed unit
• Contract lengths available from 13+ weeks through February 27, 2027
• Advanced neuro equipment including EVDs, lumbar drains, Camino ICP monitoring, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response, pharmacy, and lift teams
• 24-hour orientation program (2 days or 2 nights)

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required (strong neuro critical care background essential)
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Active North Carolina or Compact State RN license
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Core skills required: ventilator management, IV starts, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, EVD and lumbar drain experience, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery management, and isolation precautions
• Experience with stroke patients strongly preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
