Senior Accountant

Role Overview As a member of the US Commercial Finance team, this position reports directly to the US Controller and is responsible for the accurate execution of Gross to Net (GTN) accounting for US Operations. Responsibilities Develop value added analyses to provide timely observations regarding GTN rates, adjustments and trends. Support the team in moving towards more value-added analyses as the required calculations become more automated. Estimate precise GTN rates for a business unit, considering non-recurring and new programs to help support the Company’s latest monthly and quarterly estimates. Continue to enhance GTN SOX controls to increase efficiency by leveraging SOX compliance systems and reports during automation initiatives. Partner with Net Revenue Management, Commercial, and Marketing teams to analyze and influence commercial contract proposals and incentives that may have revenue recognition implications. Proactively deliver all business unit reporting requirements for GTN. Prepare monthly GTN revenue and liability results and perform account reconciliations. Provide ad‑hoc accounting support to the controller’s team outside of GTN. Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with US GAAP accounting standards and Zoetis policies and procedures. Act as a proactive advocate for corporate accounting and compliance responsibilities. Support the closing process on a quarterly basis and support audit reviews by external auditors. Prepare financial reporting for the BU and provide ongoing analysis of risks, opportunities, and ad‑hoc analysis. Ensure adequate systems and procedures provide controls, safeguarding of assets, and efficient execution of financial activities. Education • University degree in accounting (preferred) or finance. • Certified public accountant or equivalent (chartered accountant). • MBA preferred. Experience Minimum three years of experience in Accounting or Finance roles. Gross to Net accounting experience is preferred. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred. Knowledge of multi-national financial reporting requirements. Familiarity with automated financial and accounting reporting systems (SAP). Large public accounting firm experience preferred. Familiarity with Zoetis’ Accounting Policies and systems is a plus. Skills Strong analytical background with strategic thinking capabilities and attention to detail. Solid understanding of accounting, internal controls, financial systems and processes. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, both verbally and in writing. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines on multiple projects. Work effectively in a team environment and build collaborative relationships with peers and stakeholders. Strong ability to work under pressure. Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks with good time management. Advanced knowledge of Excel required. Compensation & Benefits • Hybrid working environment: approximately 50% of time (2‑3 workdays per week) required on-site at the Parsippany office. • US base salary range: $82,000.00 – $118,000.00 (determined by role, level, and location). • Eligible for short-term incentive compensation. • Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare and insurance benefits beginning on day one, a 401(k) plan with match and profit-sharing, and 4 weeks of vacation.
