Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Days and Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry setting, with potential to float to other units caring for the same patient population
• Monitor and interpret ECG rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• May care for patients on ventilators as needed based on unit demands
• Complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation with an acceptable passing score
• Work at least every other holiday as part of the rotation schedule
• Maintain active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications throughout the duration of the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — permanent Ohio license or compact state license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 12 months of permanent employment experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry
• Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Active ACLS certification required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Active NIHSS certification required and must be in hand at time of submission
• One professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty from an assignment worked within the past 12 months is required; co-worker references will not be accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with ventilator-dependent patient populations
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and ECG rhythm interpretation
• Prior travel nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting
