RN – ICU (Critical Care Registered Nurse)

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend / Every Other Holiday | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and analyze initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop individualized plans of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness for critically ill patients
• Perform nursing care associated with life-supporting technology including ventilator management, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and clinically manage patients with multi-system organ failure and/or multisystem trauma
• Administer medications safely and accurately, including all critical care drips and cardiac drips, in accordance with state practice standards and facility policies
• Serve as point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, and for patients' family members or caregivers
• Advocate for patient safety by participating in ongoing quality improvement and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members including spiritual care, palliative, and ethics services

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state of practice or covered by compact licensure
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
• Dysrhythmia exam completion required
• Minimum of 4 years of RN experience (open to discussion for highly qualified candidates with less experience); travel contract experience required (minimum of a couple of completed contracts)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of travel nursing experience
• Experience with central line care, chest tubes, wound vacs, Swan-Ganz catheters, transvenous/temporary pacing, and conscious sedation administration
• CCRN, TNCC, or other critical care specialty certification
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
