Position Summary The Marketing Public Relations Specialist will work independently, with the marketing manager and marketing agencies to shape brand perception and drive hospital awareness. The role involves managing media relations, crafting press releases, and executing campaigns to elevate Rochelle Community Hospital’s public image and support strategic business growth. Education Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related fields. Any equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered. Experience Level Will consider entry to mid-level experience (0 to 4+ years). Skills / Competency Exceptional copywriting and editing. Proficiency with PR distribution services, social media platforms, and marketing automation software. Adobe Suite Design proficiency to create ads, newsletters and other graphic design projects. Preferred skills in working with Web Design WordPress for updating websites. Above-average computer skills and proficiency required with the Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, and PowerPoint. Requires prior experience in an office setting. Excellent communication skills required, including relationship‑building and interacting with the public. Ease in using graphic files and also scanning images. Good organizational skills and the ability to work under the pressure of multiple requests. Work Environment / Physical Demands A marketing and public relations (PR) specialist works in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative, and technology‑driven environment. The role fosters collaboration, open communication, and employee well‑being, leading to excellent patient care and job satisfaction. Working in hospitals/clinics, potentially with exposure to bodily fluids or diseases. Job requires 25% walking, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and 75% keyboarding. Visual/hearing acuity with or without corrective devices required. Office setting with long hours of sitting. Demonstrates ability to work accurately and effectively in oral and written directions and communication. Enjoys working with people and works cooperatively with other hospital staff. Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced work environment. Medium lifting, generally lifting not more than 50 lbs. maximum with assistance, with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
