Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric OR position requiring strong pediatric general OR experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Operating Room of a children's hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, Monday through Friday with occasional weekends as staffing needs dictate
• Schedule may flex based on staffing needs
• Floating to other units or facilities within a 75+ mile radius may be required if resource meets job specifications
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS (CNOR preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• Strong Pediatric General OR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Trauma Level I experience required (Trauma Level II preferred)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Preferred experience includes Ambulatory OR, CVOR, General OR, Pediatric CVOR, and Trauma
• Preferred prior charge nurse experience
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of pediatric and general surgical specialties, including orthopedic, general surgery, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, neurology, and cardiovascular cases
• Work alongside a surgical team performing diverse procedures including laparoscopic, endoscopic, and reconstructive surgeries
• Candidates with any prior employment at University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must disclose full employment history including dates, units, and manager names for a rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager; no time off allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment, and no additional requests accepted mid-contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• Travel pairs are allowed but typically will not be placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
