Project Cost Accountant

We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Project Accountant to join our commercial construction team. The Project accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accuracy in job costing, compliance with construction teams and timely financial reporting. This role acts as a liaison between the accounting department and the project management teams. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports Track project costs and prepare monthly job cost reports Review and process subcontractor invoices, change orders and progress billings Ensure compliance with contract terms and client requirements Collaborate with project managers to prepare budget revisions and cost to complete estimates Maintain documentation for audits and ensure proper financial controls are in place Prepare and analyze financial statements specific to projects Assist with project setup in accounting system, including budgets, billing terms and codes Manage Accounts Receivable and follow up on outstanding Project payments Support monthly close process and provide variance analysis Ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP and industry regulations Qualifications Bachelors Degree preferred in Accounting or related field 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or engineering Experience in construction related software preferred ( Sage, Procore, Foundations, Viewpoint) Strong understanding of job cost accounting, WIP schedules and AIA billing Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools #J-18808-Ljbffr
