Position Overview
The Senior Director of Programs is a leader responsible for designing, implementing, and managing CCF’s intermediary funding services and related programs. This role provides strategic direction, operational oversight, and team leadership to support CCF’s funding initiatives being impactful, equitable, and responsive to community needs. The Senior Director will work closely with public agencies, philanthropic partners, grassroots organizations, and internal teams to build, refine, and execute funding programs that advance CCF’s mission and align funding strategies with CCF’s unified approach to thriving neighborhoods.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Leadership & Execution. Lead the design, implementation, and management of intermediary funding programs and other approved initiatives in alignment with CCF’s strategic plan and priorities. Independently execute funding initiatives, proactively identifying and addressing barriers, risks, and opportunities to achieve program goals and timelines.  Develop and refine program guidelines, applications, outreach strategies, and evaluation frameworks.
2. Strategic Collaboration & Creative Contribution. Partner with the Executive Director and senior leadership to develop and execute   fundraising strategies that grow and diversify CCF’s revenue, including grants, philanthropic gifts, and earned income.  Serve as a member of the senior leadership team, contributing creative ideas, insights, and recommendations to strengthen CCF’s programs and operations.  Lead organizational planning and decision-making, providing subject matter expertise in fund management and community-centered grantmaking.  Align fund strategies with organizational priorities and community impact goals.
3. Partnership Development & Stakeholder Engagement. Build and maintain relationships with public agencies, philanthropic partners, and community organizations to advance equitable funding practices.  Develop proposals and pricing models for new program and service offerings with current partners.  Represent CCF in collaborative initiatives, sector convenings, and policy discussions.
4. Team Leadership & Development. Supervise and mentor program managers and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and collaboration.  Support staff in delivering technical assistance, capacity building, and community engagement.
5. Compliance & Risk Management. Establish and oversee systems, policies, and practices that support compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards for all funding activities.  Maintain current knowledge of relevant laws and best practices related to grantmaking, providing guidance and training to staff and partners.  Monitor program operations for alignment with established standards and address issues as they arise.

Qualifications & Experience  

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in nonprofit, philanthropic, or public sector program management, with at least 5 years managing teams.
• Demonstrated success designing and managing complex funding programs, preferably in an intermediary or regranting context.
• Proven ability to build partnerships across diverse stakeholders and sectors.
• Demonstrated resource development experience, such as grant writing and cultivating relationships with funders.
• Strong analytical, budgeting, and evaluation skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and public speaking abilities.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and community-centered practice.
• Experience managing teams and developing staff.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in nonprofit management, public administration, or related field preferred.

Compensation & Work Environment
Competitive salary commensurate with experience, annual performance bonus, 100% employer-paid health benefits, 401(K) with employer contributions of 3% to eligible employees regardless of employee contributions, generous paid time off, summer hours, and flexible hybrid work environment.
