Assistant/Associate Professor of Finance

Position Summary Full‑time tenure‑track Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance. Join a dynamic department dedicated to teaching, scholarship, student mentorship, and community engagement. Responsibilities Teaching and Student Support Teach undergraduate finance courses (e.g., Corporate Finance, Investments, Financial Education, Analytics/Strategy, Financial Markets & Institutions, International Finance, Financial Management). Deliver instruction in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online modalities. Advise, tutor, and mentor students to promote academic progress, internships, and career development. Contribute to curriculum development, program accreditation, and assurance‑of‑learning activities. Research Conduct and publish high‑quality research in peer‑reviewed academic journals consistent with AACSB qualifications and tenure‑track requirements. Present research at professional conferences and participate in collaborative scholarly initiatives. Associate‑level applicants must demonstrate a record of high‑impact research and disciplinary visibility. Service Actively participate in departmental, school, and university committees. Provide service to the academic profession and engage in community and industry outreach. Contribute to recruitment, retention, and student engagement activities aligned with accreditation standards and the university’s HBCU mission. Qualifications Ph.D. in Finance or a related field from an AACSB‑accredited institution. Evidence of strong research potential or productivity. Demonstrated effective teaching and oral communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Ability to teach finance courses in various instructional formats. Active scholarly pipeline with manuscripts under review or accepted. Evidence of ongoing professional development. Corporate or non‑academic financial industry experience. Professional certifications such as CFA or CFP, or relevant industry experience. Experience mentoring students or supporting experiential learning. For Associate rank: demonstrated potential to pursue or secure external research funding. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to build rapport with students, supported by teaching evaluations or recognition of teaching excellence. Physical Demands Extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, or sitting at a desk. May require lifting. Requires communication with various constituents internally and externally. Requires operation of standard office equipment.
