Applicants' education/experience will be considered and the position may be filled at a lower or higher level, as appropriate.RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST IJOB DESCRIPTIONThe Radiologic Technologist I position works independently to complete a variety of routine, diagnostic radiology procedures to include common and special fluoroscopic exams of routine to moderate complexity. This position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures. This Radiologic Technologist I position delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to diagnostic radiology exam standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. This position is a member of the direct patient care team. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEMinimum Qualifications:Associates of Applied ScienceGraduate of an accredited radiography program0+ years of experienceLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONSRequired:American Registry for Radiology Technologist (ARRT-R)Texas Medical Board certification (MRT)American Heart Association BLSESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSPromotes a positive work environment.Collaborates with all members of the patient care team.Uses peer-to-peer accountability towards department goals for retention and employee engagement. Proactive in responding to patient needs.Optimizes protocols to provide for better patient care, image quality and patient experience. This includes positioning, collimation, physiology, procedure preparation, technical factors and appropriate use of lead markers.Assists physicians during diagnostic procedures or fluoroscopic procedures, including assisting with sterile technique. Performs diagnostic radiologic procedures to include common, special and fluoroscopy diagnostic exams of moderate complexity.Practices radiation safety and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable)Follows safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly.Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures.Complies with job role, department and hospital safety standards, practices and policies.Participates in WASTE walks and supports department LEAN projects.Reports near misses and inputs errors promptly into appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trends.Performs imaging equipment quality control (QC) at required intervals to ensure all imaging equipment is in safe working order prior to use. Utilizes critical thinking skills to observe and proactively address patient reactions (i.e. medications) or potential outcomes and obtains assistance, as appropriate.Provides accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures. Enters charges at the time service is delivered.Participates in department projects or shared governance activities.Seeks opportunities to expand learning beyond baseline competencies with a focus on continual development as a technologist.WORK SCHEDULE:Thursday - Sunday 7:00am to 5:30pmRADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST IIJOB DESCRIPTIONThe Radiologic Technologist II position is an experienced technologist and unit educator, competent in a variety of routine to complex diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures. This position is a member of the direct patient care team and is fully competent in all aspects of diagnostic radiology exams. The Radiologic Technologist II position serves as a mentor and trainer for Radiologic Technologists I and preceptor for clinical students. This position works independently by exercising sound judgment and executing above average clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures. The Radiologic Technologist II position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic radiology and fluoroscopic procedures. Assists with implementation and education of department based, safety initiatives and standards of practice.Provides accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures. Enters charges at the time service is delivered.
