Community Service Officer

Job Opportunities The Community Service Officer assists sworn Police Officers in daily operations and enforces the City’s codes and ordinances. The CSO serves court documents, including subpoenas, summonses, warrants and restraining orders. The CSO conducts routine safety patrols, interacts with the general public and relays problems to Dispatch. The CSO is responsible for maintaining work areas and equipment in a clean and professional manner. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Past work experience that demonstrates ability to work with the public Valid Alaska Driver’s License Bilingual in the Yup'ik language (highly desirable) First aid, CPR or EMT training (highly desirable) Public safety‑related experience or training (preferred) Special Requirements Must pass a comprehensive criminal records background check and a psychological exam. Must obtain and maintain an Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) security clearance.
