Restoration Technician

You will be expected to perform mechanical and assembly work on high-end restorations on 1960s-1980s GM Vehicles, especially focused on Camaros, Chevelles, Novas, and Firebirds. You will have your own lift in a shop occupied by two other mechanics; but with plenty of room, and the ability to curtain off your work area. You will be required to paint items such as parts, undercarriage components and firewalls to a show-quality finish; however, our business is not currently set up to perform exterior body work and paint. Although, this skill set would certainly be a bonus and utilized! You will also be expected to have the attention to detail required to learn and perform restorations of the highest originality. As a secondary job, you will be occasionally asked to do more generic mechanical repairs and diagnostics on more "in-and-out" style jobs, although restoration work is our current priority. Requirements: You must have your own complete set of basic automotive tools to bring; specialty tools will be provided by the shop. Previous restoration experience is required. We would love to see pictures of work you have completed in the past. You will need to be a team player. We already have two full-time mechanics/restoration technicians, you will be expected to occasionally assist in their work. Why choose us? We have restored several Yenko and COPO Camaros and Chevelles as well as several Trans Am Firebirds. Bob is a nationally recognized judge for the ACA, and we regularly restore cars that achieve accolades at the high-end judged shows. We have tons of original and reproduction parts on hand to keep restoration projects moving swiftly. We just need more mechanics! Our facility currently contains three shops and five lifts, with future plans for a car-sized paint booth. Extremely flexible hours. Wages and Hours: We are prepared to start this position at $25-$30/hour, but we are willing to increase the starting wage depending on experience.
