Senior Backend Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to build and enhance a large-scale Customer Data Platform (CDP) that supports over 400 million customer profiles. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, APIs, Kafka, distributed systems, and large-scale data platforms, along with experience building real-time customer data and audience segmentation solutions. Required Skills Must Have 7+ years of backend development experience Strong proficiency in Java (primary language) Experience designing and developing REST APIs Hands‑on experience with Apache Kafka and event‑driven architectures Experience working with Customer Data Platforms (CDP) or Audience Builder platforms Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture Experience with distributed databases MongoDB Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) Strong knowledge of SQL Experience with Kubernetes and Docker Nice to Have Python or Go Scala Spark or Flink dbt Redis CDC tools such as Debezium Key Responsibilities Customer Data Platform Development Design and build scalable backend services supporting over 400M customer profiles Develop identity resolution and customer profile unification capabilities Build real‑time profile enrichment and ingestion pipelines Implement customer data governance, consent management, and compliance controls Real‑Time Data Processing Design Kafka‑based streaming architectures Develop Change Data Capture (CDC) solutions Ensure reliable message processing with retry mechanisms and fault tolerance Audience Segmentation Optimize complex filtering and query performance Build audience estimation and version management capabilities Campaign Management Build APIs for campaign creation, scheduling, approvals, and lifecycle management Implement workflow automation and audit tracking Analytics & Reporting Develop services for audience insights and campaign reporting Build APIs supporting analytical dashboards
