PositionSummary Prepares patients for procedures per physician orders and established protocols, including NPO verification andsite confirmation. Initiates IV access, administers pre-procedure medications, and prepares contrast agents or procedural medications as ordered. Assistsphysicians during procedural and interventional radiology cases,anticipatingneeds andmaintainingsterile or aseptictechniques. Monitors patients throughout procedures, including vital signs, cardiac rhythm, oxygenation, level of consciousness, and pain. Administers medications, IV fluids, and moderate sedation perproviderorders and organizational policy. Provides post-procedure recovery and monitoring until discharge criteria are met. Quality, Safety, and Compliance Adheres to state nurse practice acts, ASC accreditation standards (AAAHC), and radiation safety requirements. Ensures compliance with infection prevention, sterile technique, and contrast safety protocols. Follows radiation safety practices, includinguseof personal protective equipment (PPE) and monitoring devices whenrequired. Participatesin performance improvement initiatives, regulatory surveys, and emergency preparedness drills. DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Education –bachelor’s degree, RN certified. Preferred Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state ofpractice CPR, ACLS/BLS. 5+ yrs. experience, preferably in Interventional Radiology, emergency/critical medicine and/or code team experiencepreferred.
