Forklift Driver

Clayton is a single‑family home builder dedicated to attainable housing and sustainable practices. Position Summary Forklift Driver / Material Handler works at the Marlette Homes / Clayton Hermiston building facility in Hermiston, OR. The role involves handling and placement of materials within each department of the home building facility. Duties / Responsibilities Drive forklift. Provide materials to plant. Receive material delivered from vendors. Check off deliveries against packing slips. Put materials in respective areas. Ensure timely delivery of materials to departments. Rotate materials by date and delivery. Check quality and state of received materials. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Previous construction or warehouse experience preferred. Experience operating a forklift or forklift certification preferred; training available. Practice safe work habits and observe OSHA regulations. Work in a team environment to meet productivity objectives. Serve as a steward of company assets. Assist team leader and area coordinator in planning and organizing manufacturing activities. Meet attendance requirements and follow shift start times. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations. Physical demands: perform tasks in an indoor, non‑climate‑controlled environment and tolerate exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals. Minimum Qualifications – Must Be Able To Continuously see, hear and speak. Walk on uneven surfaces, stand, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, and reach overhead. Use of wrists and hands for continuous use. Use pneumatic tools, hand tools, and saws, depending on position. Wear required PPE. Lift 20–50 lbs. Work Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; availability for overtime and Saturdays if needed. Communicate efficiently and clearly with management and other team members. Be versatile and willing to transfer into different departments when necessary. Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings greatly desired.
