Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience: • 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months. • 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years. • Travel experience is required. • Experience with Epic is preferred. • Trauma Level 1 experience is required. Requirements: • Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission). • This role may require floating to additional units and locations • Local & travel allowed. Candidates living • 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare. Required Skills/Experience: Prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. Must have heparin gtt experience. Special Requests: Try to meet requests; will block if it is possible with staffing. Unit Details: Neuro Med-Surg acute unit caring for stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, neuroscience, and some medical overflow patients. Nurse: patient ratios are day shift 1:4-5 and nights 1:5-6. RNs titrate heparin drips based on PTT. Charge nurse and house supervisor are available 24/7; the charge nurse does not take an assignment unless short staffed and nurses would be above ratios. Patient care tech support ratios are days/evenings 1:9-10 and nights 1:10-12. House-wide telemetry; nurses do not read their own strips. Phillips monitors. Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend on both shifts. Every other holiday. No call. Floating Requirements: Float in rotation with the rest of staff. General unit traveler floats to general unit floor and takes a full team.
