Kettering Health SoinBeavercreek | Part-Time | Varied ShiftsResponsibilities & RequirementsThe Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient-centered nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in collaboration with the healthcare team. This role ensures the safety, quality, and continuity of care for patients across diverse clinical settings, supporting optimal patient outcomes and compliance with regulatory standards. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.Required EducationGraduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).Required Licenses, Certifications, and RegistrationsCurrent, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.SkillsProficiency in patient assessment, care planning, and clinical documentationEffective verbal and written communicationProficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systemsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to prioritize and manage multiple patient assignmentsAbility to collaborate within interdisciplinary care teamsCommitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and infection control standardsKnowledge of HIPAA and regulatory requirements.Essential FunctionsAssess patients' physical, psychosocial, and educational needs through interviews, examinations, and review of medical history.Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.Administer medications and treatments safely, monitoring for therapeutic and adverse effects in accordance with provider orders and protocols.Document all aspects of patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR).Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, medication regimens, and preventive care strategies.Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes.Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.Advocate for patient needs, preferences, and rights, ensuring culturally competent and ethical care.Maintain compliance with organizational policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and infection control initiatives as assigned.Respond to emergencies and perform life-saving interventions within scope of practice and training.CompetenciesNursing competencies are based on ACHC standards or department specific needs/specialties.Preferred QualificationsBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)One year of clinical nursing experience in an acute care or relevant specialty settingAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or specialty certification applicable to clinical area
