This is your chance to make a real impact!How you will contributeYou will work independently and with a cross-functional team to plan, lead and coordinate technical projects in line with R&D, regulatory, marketing and manufacturing requirements. You will effectively communicate status & risks and plan, lead, & coordinate pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. In addition, you will plan, lead, & coordinate development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation. etc.). To provide direction for product development, you will use digital simulation models to understand and interpret consumer insights and commercial information. In this role, you will create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications and be responsible for stakeholder management and influencing decisions based on conclusions made from analysis and interpretation of results.What you will bringA desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge:• Leading and supporting R&D and cross-functional project teams• Handling multiple priorities at once• Proactively identifying technical or business problems and creating and implementing solutions• Applying technical curiosity and understanding to interpret and analyze data• Driving consumer-centricity as the focus of everything we do• Effectively influencing cross-functional stakeholders verbally and in writing, including writing technical report conclusions• Coaching and mentoring othersMore about this roleWhat you need to know about this position:The candidate will be responsible for delivering a variety of projects within the North America Confectionsportfolio (Halls Over-the-Counter Drug and Dietary Supplement Products, with potential to work on Sour Patch Kids, & Swedish Fish), such as maintaining and optimizing products, supporting capacity expansion efforts, and delivering against quality and margin management goals. The candidate must be versatile, able to work in cross-functional teams, and be capable of working proactively across multiple projects. The candidate should be able to leverage experts/partners to ensure compliance to documentation, shelf life, regulatory requirements for NA, FTO/IP, and confidentiality requirements. What extra ingredients you will bring:• Drive excellence in Project Management• Plan and execute work plans, including development of timelines, risk assessments and contingency plans• Analyze results of experiments and translate them into actionable recommendations with minimal guidance and support• Have strong knowledge of the commercialization process • Identify and efficiently utilize necessary resources to achieve timely delivery of project objectives• Possess a strong understanding of the functional characteristics of ingredients, packaging materials, and process unit operations, including how they impact finished products to meet consumer expectations.Education / Certifications:BS in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related field.Job specific requirements:• Minimum of 5 yrs. experience, preferably in the food industry.• Strong technical foundation and a high level of technical curiosity.• Ability to develop and drive technical project with proper scientific rigor: conduct appropriate testing, gather and analyze data, and develop recommendations based on findings.• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and manage complexity- from bench top to execution. • Participate in cross functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues. • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to effectively communicate to all levels within the organizationTravel requirements: Travel up to 30%, to locations in Canada, US, Turkey, and Mexico.Work schedule:This is a full-time role based in East Hanover, NJ with in-office expectations of 3-5 days per week.Salary and Benefits:The base salary range for this position is $86,900 to $119,515; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
