Food Service SupervisorHot JobBaytown, TX 77521OverviewPosition Type Full Time Job Shift AnyDescriptionThe Food Service Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, training, and management of the food service operation. Ensure that appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesAdheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residentsResponsible for staff scheduling on a biweekly basis if a FSD is not in the staffing pattern.Supervises and manages the front house operation of the Dining Room Services Department; including training and managing the workflow of the department and/or supervises and manages the back of house operation of the kitchen area.Ensures Dining Room areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner and assures compliance with the State sanitation codeMaintains all serving schedules; ensure that all food items are served per menu specifications in a safe and appropriate manner according to departmental policies and proceduresMaintains temperature logsEnsures costs are maintained within established budgetary guidelinesEnsures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policiesLeads team by example through adherence to community standards and guidelinesPerforms all other duties as assignedQualifications & Physical RequirementsWorking knowledge of the rules and regulations related to health and safety in food preparation (e.g., Food Protection Mangement Certification, annual certification)Ability to instruct others in service and sanitations tasksAbility to supervise the service of food; good interpersonal skillsAble to regularly lift up to 30 pounds, to occasionally life more than 50 pounds, and to spend long periods of time standingStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) ordering Platforms (i.e., DSSI, Sysco), and proficiency with internet usage.Education & ExperienceKnowledge of FDA and USDA regulations regarding food practices and handling requiredSafe Food Manager certificateTwo years of progressive and relevant experienceExperience in supervisingPrefer experience in overseeing the serving of mealsThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee in this position.
