Software Development Engineer I-1

What We're Looking For You will analyze, design, develop, and maintain software solutions for the organization’s products and systems. You will collaborate on system integrations of software and hardware to ensure optimal performance and program consistency, develop, validate, and test structures, user documentation, and software functionality, and build systems, CI/CD, deployment, backups, disaster recovery, and security. You will also implement small/medium build, CI/CD tasks, packaging, distribution, and backup plans. Work is reviewed for accuracy and adherence to established processes and guidelines. Location & Work Arrangement Role is required to be onsite in the Lincolnshire, IL office. Hybrid arrangement: minimum of 3 days in the office per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design, develop, and test software components as part of a larger project. Actively participate in the development process, including managing pull requests and conducting code reviews. Create and execute comprehensive software tests, analyze results, and perform root cause analyses to resolve defects. Maintain and upgrade existing software, enhancing current technologies to support new solutions. Recommend and implement solutions to complex issues while ensuring strict adherence to quality processes and standards. Identify opportunities and implement strategies to enhance team performance and overall productivity. Exercise sound judgment within defined procedures to manage routine work, new projects, and assignments under general guidance. Build productive working relationships, collaborating primarily within the immediate organization and occasionally handling cross‑departmental or external customer communications. Job Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Advanced Degree in a relevant field is also acceptable. Key Skills and Competencies Quantitative, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Familiarity with programming languages (Java required; Python and SQL preferred), operating systems, algorithms and software development frameworks. Basic understanding of software development life cycles (e.g., Agile, Scrum). Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of building systems and deploying applications, preferably with CI/CD, Cloud, and infrastructure tools (Jenkins, Spinnaker, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform).
