JOB DESCRIPTION

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

This position is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week

Shift : 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Department : Administration

Supervised By: Human Resources Director

WORK SCHEDULES :

All positions at Baptist Village, Inc. include holidays and weekends as they fall within your schedule. Additional hours may be needed as workload demands.

• Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
• Possess flexibility to work in a dynamic work setting with the ability to adjust the schedule to meet department needs.
• Good physical health condition and pass a physical examination.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Work is inside (may be required to go outside occasionally).

As required by OSHA, an exposure evaluation has been done based upon a reasonably anticipated contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials that may result from the performance of employee duties. Based on the evaluation, the Human Resources Assistant has a Low Risk for exposure.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND WORK AIDS :


Personnel records and reports, fax/copy machines, and computers with various software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following :

• Contact references for prospective new hires by phone and online sources.
• Conduct criminal background checks.
• Maintain PPD and physical examination reports and ensure all associates are up to date regularly (this includes sending reminders to staff).
• Schedule new hire physical examination appointments and communicate with appropriate persons.
• Maintain driver insurance log and communicate changes with the insurance company.
• Cross-train in all benefit plans.
• Assist in the orientation of new hires.
• Assist auditors with files as needed.
• Make name tags as needed.
• Prepare and deliver various reports to various departments as needed.
• File paperwork into medical and personnel files.
• File active and inactive files in the file room or other locations.
• Assist in file audits for file completion.
• Assist with the new hire and termination procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.
