Metal Finisher / Grinder

Pay Rate: $15–$17 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Metal Finisher / Grinder to join a precision metal fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have experience using grinders, hand tools, and power tools to finish metal components, remove burrs, smooth rough edges, and prepare fabricated parts to meet quality standards.

This position is ideal for someone with manufacturing or fabrication experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work and can work safely in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand grinders, angle grinders, and other finishing tools to smooth metal surfaces.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, weld spatter, and excess material from fabricated metal parts.
• Grind, polish, and finish metal components according to job specifications.
• Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure they meet quality requirements.
• Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and specifications as needed.
• Use measuring tools to verify part dimensions when required.
• Prepare metal components for additional fabrication processes or final inspection.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with material handling and other general shop duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in metal finishing, grinding, manufacturing, or fabrication preferred.
• Experience using hand grinders, angle grinders, and power tools.
• Ability to identify rough edges, burrs, and surface imperfections.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow instructions and meet production deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing or industrial shop environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as required.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
