Patient Service Technician - CMV (Delivering Medical Equipment)

Job Summary The Patient Service Technician delivers and picks up equipment for home‑care patients. This position is hourly with a salary range of $21.56–$23.05 per hour. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deliver and pick up medical equipment and supplies from patients’ homes. Set up equipment and instruct patients on its basic use. Assist patients with equipment problems, troubleshoot and provide solutions. Schedule and organize daily deliveries and pickups according to geographic territory. Load and unload durable medical equipment, oxygen, and supplies onto the delivery vehicle. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements (driver qualification file, hours of service, hazardous materials, vehicle inspection and maintenance). Complete required paperwork including daily delivery logs, pickup and delivery forms, reimbursement documents, and vehicle maintenance logs. Distribute paperwork to appropriate personnel. Notify supervisor if the patient’s home contains: physical abuse, unsafe environment, unsanitary conditions, or animals that compromise safety. Maintain daily vehicle maintenance logs and incident reports. Ensure vehicles are in proper working condition and perform preventive maintenance as required. Respond to emergency delivery calls and occasional on‑call duties. Assist with cleaning and repair of equipment. Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks (gasoline, oil, tire pressure, brakes). Report malfunctioning vehicles to supervisor. Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor. Minimum Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year of related work experience. Minimum of 21 years of age. Minimum of three years of driving history. Valid driver’s license. Successful completion of Apria Healthcare Driver Training Program. Ability to meet DOT, FDA, and Joint Commission regulations. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Business acumen. Problem solving/analysis. Communication proficiency. Personal effectiveness/credibility. Basic computer skills. English reading, writing, and verbal communication. Basic mathematics. Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical demands include lifting 10–160 lbs, carrying up to 350 ft, pushing or pulling 20–60 lbs, kneeling, stooping, and working in varied weather and traffic conditions.
