Production & Machine Operator, Direct Hire
Job Description
This role operates and sets up plastic extrusion machinery to produce high-quality materials according to precise specifications. The Extrusion Machine Operator loads raw plastic rolls using a stand-up forklift, monitors machine performance, performs quality checks, and maintains accurate production records in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Available shifts:
A Shift (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Every Other Sunday, 6:45AM to 7PM)
B Shift (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Every Other Sunday, 6:45PM to 7AM)
C Shift (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Every Other Sunday, 6:45AM to 7PM)
D Shift (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Every Other Sunday, 6:45PM to 7AM)
Responsibilities
* Load rolls of raw plastic material into industrial extrusion machinery using a stand-up forklift.
* Assist with machine start-up and shutdown procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations.
* Support product changeovers and material changes by following established setup and adjustment guidelines.
* Set up plastic extrusion machinery according to production specifications and work instructions.
* Monitor machine performance throughout the shift and promptly notify operators of any process or equipment issues.
* Make necessary adjustments to extrusion machinery to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
* Perform regular quality checks using gauges, calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and visual inspections to confirm products meet specifications.
* Read and interpret blueprints and measurement data to ensure accurate setup and output.
* Record production data, quality results, and downtime information accurately and in a timely manner.
* Troubleshoot basic machine issues and support maintenance activities as directed.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to support safety and product quality.
* Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures while operating machinery and material handling equipment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a very clean, well-lit, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You will work around industrial plastic extrusion machinery and related production equipment, regularly using a stand-up forklift and precision measuring tools such as gauges, calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
