Middle School Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Teacher

The Middle School Project Lead The Way (PLTW) teacher provides students with a rigorous and relevant Science/Technology/Engineering/Math (STEM) education. The teacher is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all students within his/her teaching assignment. Ensure students gain skills in problem-solving, communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, and creativity; help students focus on solving real world problems and use the design process to "think like an engineer"; Facilitate student learning, use data to plan, organize and set goals; and maintain safe and orderly environment; Responsible for teaching to the South Carolina PLTW Gateway Standards to include various software applications and PLTW's learning management system; Responsible for facilitating career planning opportunities in STEM occupations for students. Meet the needs of all learners; Develop and compile student lesson plans, records and reports; Establish and maintain working relationships with students, teachers, parents, and administrators; Communicate effectively in written and oral form; Maintain safe learning environment; Utilize various forms of media & technology; Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Baccalaureate and current certification in a Career & Technology, Math and/or Science discipline; Must be currently licensed to teach Project Lead the Way or be eligible for a South Carolina PLTW Endorsement after successful completion of the designated Project Lead the Way courses; A minimum of two years' work experience in an engineering-related field preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license.
