Position General Manager – University Shell, Full‑Time – Rotating Shift; Location: University Shell, Houston, TX. Salary $45,000 annually. Job Summary The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the management of the entire store operation. The GM leads the management team to achieve store and profit goals, maximize profitability through expense control and revenue optimization, and develop a high‑performing team. The GM oversees the fuel offer when applicable, maintains customer and associate satisfaction, enforces brand standards, and orders and evaluates financial performance. Responsibilities Ensure a positive shopping experience for all customers, respond to customer complaints, solicit feedback, and develop plans to meet expectations. Staff the store for 24/7 operation, identify hiring needs, interview candidates, and make hiring decisions. Allocate resources, prioritize tasks, and manage time through efficient scheduling. Ensure all associates are trained to perform their jobs safely, effectively, and with excellent customer service; conduct management training and oversee associate proficiency. Create and sustain an inclusive store atmosphere, recognize and celebrate staff contributions. Support associate and team development through performance management, career conversations, and developmental plans. Maintain safety, service, and operational efficiency standards, monitor compliance, and report incidents. Lead change initiatives, champion programs, and educate associates on the need for change. Meet or exceed key performance metrics, deliver budgeted merchandise gross profit, and analyze financial reports to achieve goals. Control inventory to maximize sales, reduce waste, and manage cash procedures. Analyze audit results and take corrective action to resolve issues. Build community relationships and leverage organizational resources. Essential Qualifications Experience or willingness to run efficient kitchen operations. Manage restaurant kitchen staff and enforce food‑safety standards. Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred. Proven skills in customer service, relationship building, and effective communication. Experience in selecting, training, evaluating, and managing staff; sales building, labor allocation, scheduling, and expense control. Coaching and developing team members with strong leadership skills. Ability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. Demonstrated ability to implement change and achieve results. Leadership experience in fast‑paced retail, food service, or fuel environments preferred. Ability to relocate if required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and reliable transportation. Physical Requirements Standing, walking, and handling for the entire shift.
