About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a telemetry setting License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience required - Experience with patient ratios of 6:1 for days and 5:1 for nights - Must be flexible with scheduling - Requires weekend coverage every other weekend - Must be fluent in cardiac rhythms Description: We have a 54-bed telemetry unit. The unit is divided into three wings. Patients in this unit may also be cared for in an overflow unit. We are looking for applicants with flexible scheduling. Every other weekend, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night, will be required. If any holiday occurs during the assignment period, the applicant may be scheduled to work. The patient population includes adolescents and adults with cardiovascular conditions. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, atrial fibrillation, chest pain, NSTEMI, arrhythmias, electrolyte abnormalities, COVID, and sepsis. Special procedures performed include cardiac catheterization, post-CABG care, and pacemaker management. Daily patient care involves managing cardiac drips, interpreting dysrhythmias, and performing wound care. Interdisciplinary support is available from physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Candidates must have experience with EPIC charting. Education on NIH and stroke protocols is required. Previous employees must be gone for at least 6 months before reapplying. Sick days should be kept to a minimum, with no requests for more than 7 days during the assignment. All units require specialty experience within the last year.
