Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position in Research Medical Center. The role involves providing specialized care for adult patients, with a preference for candidates with burn experience, in a dedicated, multidisciplinary burn ICU/PCU environment. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced equipment and a skilled team committed to high-quality patient care. Job Details Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: 1 year of experience in ICU or PCU, BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIH certification preferred but not required. Responsibilities include performing debridement, dressing changes, line insertions, chest tube maintenance, and post-operative care on a mixed acuity adult patient population. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC required; NIH certification and ABLS preferred. Procedures performed on unit: Debridement, dressing changes, Line insertion, Chest tube insertions and maintenance, Post-op procedural care. Dress Code: Navy blue scrub top, navy blue or black scrub pants, scrub jacket. No T-shirts, hoodies, or sweatshirts allowed. The unit operates with a strong multidisciplinary team, including a dedicated burn surgeon and advanced technology such as GE cardiac monitoring equipment and Meditech documentation system. This position requires adherence to unit-specific policies and guidelines, including bedside shift reporting and patient-centered care.
