This role ensures that the physical aspects of the property meet company standards while delivering timely, high-quality service to residents. The Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance, unit turns, repairs, and emergency maintenance while contributing to a safe and well-maintained living environment.What You'll DoMaintenance & RepairsDiagnose and complete repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and general maintenanceSchedule, monitor, and perform preventative maintenance activitiesComplete apartment turns and prepare units for new residentsEnsure all work orders are completed promptly, professionally, and accuratelyPerform emergency maintenance as requiredProperty Inspections & UpkeepInspect buildings, grounds, and common areas to identify maintenance needsMaintain the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of the propertyVerify that completed work meets company standards and quality expectationsVendor & Operational SupportAssist with scheduling and coordinating vendors and contractorsSupport bid collection and vendor oversight for maintenance projectsAssist with purchasing maintenance supplies while adhering to budget guidelinesAccurately prepare and submit invoices and maintenance documentationResident ExperienceDeliver exceptional customer service to current and prospective residentsCommunicate effectively regarding maintenance requests and repair timelinesPromote a positive living experience through responsive and professional serviceCompliance & SafetyFollow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulationsParticipate in required training, including safety, fair housing, anti-harassment, and compliance programsMaintain a safe working environment and proper use of equipment and toolsAdditional ResponsibilitiesSupport on-call and after-hours maintenance needs as assignedPerform other duties as assigned to support property operationsWhat We're Looking ForRequired Skills & QualificationsBasic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, and general maintenance systemsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesAbility to safely operate maintenance equipment and toolsAvailability for night, weekend, and on-call responsibilitiesPreferred QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentOne (1) year of experience in electrical, painting, drywall, plumbing, or related maintenance tradesEPA Certification (Type I and II)HVAC CertificationCPO Certification (Pool)Other licenses or certifications as required by state lawExperience in multifamily or student housing environmentsWork SchedulePrimarily Monday–FridayExtended hours, evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities may be required based on business needsPhysical RequirementsAbility to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, and climbAbility to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs. with assistanceAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsExposure to maintenance-related environments including mechanical equipment, chemicals, dust, noise, and outdoor elementsAbility to safely operate tools, equipment, and vehicles as requiredWhy Join B.HOM?Competitive compensationComprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision)401(k) with company match12-weeks Paid Parental LeaveCompany Paid Sabbatical Leave12 company-paid holidaysBirthday holidayPaid Time Off — Starting at 120 hours per yearSick and safe timeShort- and long-term disability insurancePet insurance optionsCareer growth opportunities within a rapidly growing organizationA people-first culture focused on development and successB.HOM is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
