Licensed Practical Nurse

Position Summary: The Licensed Practical Nurse - PNS (LPN) is responsible for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician in a patient care area. The LPN is responsible for providing exemplary customer service and consistently practicing CMC's core values of excellence, compassion, healing, teamwork, stewardship, innovation, and integrity.

- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse program required.
- Previous outpatient care experience preferred.
- Previous Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
- Knowledge of nursing theory and practice required.
- Current South Carolina (or compact state) licensure as LPN (SCLLR) in good standing required. Compact state license must be in accordance with the compact state regulations.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service.
- Reinforces and documents direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
- Nursing care is guided by the physician orders and the nursing plan of care.
- Patient response to care is reported to a registered nurse for evaluation, intervention, and modification of the plan of care.
- Assists physicians and other nursing personnel in the performance of various diagnostic procedures.
- Work effectively and collaboratively with coworkers, nursing colleagues, physicians, and department heads.
- Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
- Consistently display effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
- Regularly exercise independent judgment.
- The LPN performs functions as noted above and generally with an assigned patient load, but LPN is ready and willing to assist co-workers with any nursing support function and across any case load including other units that may not be the normal primary work assignment.
