Vice President, Biology

Corcept Therapeutics seeks a Vice President of Biology to lead non-clinical biology strategy and oversight for its cortisol modulator pipeline. Reporting to the Chief Scientific Officer, this newly created role manages internal biology teams and external research partners while bridging discovery and clinical development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute non-clinical biology strategy for cortisol modulator portfolio with defined timelines and budgets
• Direct design of screening assays and pharmacology studies for lead optimization and candidate selection
• Lead internal biology team and manage external network of contract research organizations and academic partners
• Serve as primary liaison between discovery, clinical development, and regulatory affairs on biology matters
• Author and approve non-clinical sections of regulatory submissions, investigator brochures, and health authority responses

Requirements

• Advanced degree in biology, pharmacology, or related life science discipline
• Significant experience leading biology teams in drug discovery or development
• Deep expertise in non-clinical pharmacology and in vitro/in vivo study design
• Demonstrated ability to manage contract research organizations and external collaborators
• Strong track record translating preclinical science into regulatory submissions
• Leadership experience building and scaling scientific capabilities in lean organizations
