Position Title: Network Technician Department: Information Technology Reports To: Chief Information Officer Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Technician to support and maintain our organization’s network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network hardware, software, and communication systems to ensure optimal performance and security Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues with Rukus and Cloudpath management application Perform routine maintenance and system upgrades Configure and support LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless networks Diagnose hardware and software problems and provide technical support to users Maintain network security protocols and assist with cybersecurity measures Document network configurations, changes, and procedures Coordinate with IT staff and vendors to resolve technical issues Assist with cable installation and network infrastructure setup Ensure backup and disaster recovery procedures are functioning properly Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Network troubleshooting Cable management and installation Technical support Network monitoring tools Security best practices Documentation and reporting Time management and multitasking Minimum Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) or 3 more years’ experience Rukus and Cloudpath with routers, switches, and firewalls 3 more years’ experience Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network security principles Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems Strong troubleshooting and communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Preferred Certifications CompTIA Network+ Microsoft certifications Rukus and Cloudpath related #J-18808-Ljbffr Wilberforce University
