Revenue Cycle Precertification Nurse- LPN- PRN- Remote

This role ensures the financial security of scheduled inpatient and outpatient accounts by obtaining prior authorizations and coordinating with physicians and case management. The position supports revenue cycle staff within pre‑service and works under general supervision. Education Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) diploma. Experience 3 years of hospital‑based patient care experience. Preferred: ambulatory experience. Certifications Current LPN license in the state of practice. Key Responsibilities Secure clinical documentation and perform pre‑service medical necessity reviews to obtain prior authorizations. Coordinate with physicians and staff for appropriate level of care setting and essential clinical documentation to support medical necessity. Work collaboratively with Case Management to establish level of care for direct admits and inpatient stays. Assist in day‑to‑day operations of the department and support the company’s business services goals. Maintain professional and technical knowledge and certifications, ensuring regulatory requirements are met. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly. Excellent customer service skills and ability to gather and disseminate information with diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative teamwork, and handling high‑pressure situations. Good organization and time management skills, able to work with minimal supervision. Decision making, critical thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail. Application of medical necessity criteria, standards of practice, and research regarding pre‑certification guidelines. Prioritization of tasks and management of multiple tasks efficiently. Working knowledge of CPT and ICD‑10 terminology, Medicare guidelines, HMO and PPO contracts, and other insurance billing processes. Physical and Environmental Demands Light work: occasional exertion up to 20 pounds, frequent up to 10 pounds, and negligible amount. Work may involve walking, standing, sitting, pushing or pulling materials, and may include exposure to blood, body fluid, tissue, communicable diseases, hazardous medications or waste.
