Distribution Engineer

Develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements Perform structural analysis for wood pole loading and guying calculations Specify conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans Calculate voltage drop and flicker Provide engineering support during construction Conduct post-construction reviews to verify engineering and construction standards Conduct root cause analysis of outages and develop mitigation using engineering principles and design Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements Assess and develop large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments Develop work permits, easements, and right-of-way applications Work directly with clients and support local utility customers Attend in-person meetings and assignments throughout the New Jersey customer territory as needed Requirements 2+ years of prior relevant experience required Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred; additional relevant experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree Experience executing distribution projects from kickoff through design approved, including customer interaction and process documentation Experience with utility reliability projects Proficiency with the NESC Ability to utilize a personal vehicle Willingness to perform both field and office work Ability to work in outdoor environments on occasion Ability to conduct customer-site visits to collect field data Valid U.S. driver's license required Previous QAQC experience nice to have Experience providing estimated costs, developing a BOM, and calculating the CIAC nice to have Experience with Pole Foreman, O-Calc, or Spida-Calc nice to have Experience with the Work Management System CREWS nice to have Relevant management or leadership experience nice to have Strong written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to support customer advocacy Collaborative and inclusive approach Positive attitude Ability to work with limited supervision Professional dress and demeanor Attention to detail and highly organized Excellent time management Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in developing design and construction work packages for electrical distribution systems, including proficiency in structural analysis, voltage drop calculations, and utility reliability projects.
