Job Title: Cardiac Cath RN

License: Active Illinois license
Certifications: BLS, ACLS


Must-Have:
Must be able to admit, prep, and recover procedural cases from Cath, IR, and EP.
Must be able to read tele strips and titrate drips.
Need to know mostly all IV medications.
Prefer experience with peripheral angio cases, IR, and neuro intervention.


Description:
Unit has 6 pre/post beds.
Average of 4-6 cases per day.
Common diagnoses include STEMI, stroke, drain placement, line placement, all heart caths, peripheral angios, IVC placement, temporary pacemaker insertion, TEE's, cardioversions, and EP studies.
Experience in the Cath Lab is essential.
Charge nurse may take an assignment sometimes.
Cath Lab Techs are present on each shift.
12-hour shifts may require staying late depending on cases.
Hospital scrubs are provided.
Unit-specific orientation usually lasts 1 week, or 4 shifts.
Charting is done using an EPIC system.
This role is situated within an acute care setting.
The trauma level is 2.
