Custodian

Our client, in the Alexandria, VA area is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian for a long-term temporary contract. In this role, you will perform routine manual tasks under close supervision to ensure facilities remain safe, clean, and well-maintained. Schedule Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Pay rate between $20.00 and $22.00 per hour. Role Summary & Key Responsibilities: - Routine Cleaning: Sweep, mop, scrub, buff, and wax floors; clean and sanitize offices, furniture, and restrooms; manage waste, recycling, and paper supplies. - Facilities & Grounds Maintenance: Perform minor building repairs, replace light bulbs, unstop lavatories, and maintain outdoor areas, including plant care and seasonal snow removal. - Logistics & Event Support: Assist with moving furniture, preparing meeting rooms, and loading/unloading large shipments. - Equipment Care & Safety: Safely operate powered cleaning equipment, handle chemicals appropriately, and adhere to safety guidelines. Qualifications & Skills: - Ability to follow oral and written instructions and maintain a routine schedule. - Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor, lift heavy supplies, and handle outdoor tasks. - Dependability, punctuality, and strong attention to detail.
