Grace Chapel Youth Pastor

The Youth Pastor serves as the primary spiritual leader for students in grades 6–12 at Grace Chapel. This role is responsible for leading a vibrant, Christ-centered ministry that reaches students with the gospel, disciples believers toward spiritual maturity, and equips young people to serve Christ in their church, schools, and communities.

Grace Chapel desires a youth ministry that is filled with junior high and senior high students who are growing in their love for Jesus Christ and actively sharing their faith with others.

The Youth Pastor should be someone who naturally connects with students and demonstrates Christ through biblical teaching, prayer, discipleship, encouragement, and personal example. This leader should model a genuine love for Jesus, a commitment to God's Word, and a passion for reaching those who do not yet know Christ.

We envision a youth ministry that is both welcoming and engaging—a place where students enjoy inviting their friends while also growing deeper in their faith.

Our ministry is built on two primary objectives:

• Reach Students with the Gospel
• Disciple Students to Spiritual Maturity

The Youth Pastor will:

• Develop, lead, and evaluate ministries that fulfill Grace Chapel's vision for student outreach and discipleship.
• Serve as the primary Bible teacher for junior high and senior high students.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and encourage volunteer leaders who assist in student ministry.
• Develop an annual ministry plan for each age group that includes teaching, discipleship, outreach, events, and service opportunities. Maintain a detailed ministry calendar and teaching plan at least four months in advance.
• Regularly pray for and with students and encourage their spiritual growth through personal discipleship.
• Prepare and manage the annual youth ministry budget responsibly.
• Plan and lead at least: Two retreats, camps, or mission experiences for senior high students each year. One retreat, camp, or mission experience for junior high students each year.
• Provide oversight and support for the Sunday School ministry serving youth.
• Serve as a key leader in Grace Chapel's Vacation Bible School (VBS).
• Participate in the NOW program, using it as an opportunity to mentor students and develop future ministry leaders.
• Attend staff meetings and work collaboratively with church leadership and ministry teams.
• Demonstrate a servant-hearted attitude by assisting in other areas of church ministry when short-term needs arise.

Expected Time Allocation: The Youth Pastor position averages approximately 40–50 hours per week, with flexibility based on ministry seasons and events.

Ministry Area: Approximate Weekly Hours

• Direct ministry (services, youth group, Bible studies, events) 15
• Lesson preparation, planning, and administration 10–12
• Relationship building with current students 8–10
• Outreach and building relationships with new students 3–5
• Staff meetings and leadership meetings 1–4
• Flexible ministry time (events, counseling, special projects, etc.) 2–7

Personal Qualifications: The Youth Pastor should:

• Demonstrate a growing and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Be committed to the authority of Scripture and Grace Chapel's doctrinal beliefs.
• Exhibit Christlike character, humility, integrity, and servant leadership.
• Possess strong communication and teaching skills.
• Build meaningful relationships with students and families.
• Have a heart for evangelism and discipleship.
• Work well with church staff, volunteers, and leadership.
• Be organized, self-motivated, and able to lead and develop ministry teams.
• Live a lifestyle that reflects biblical values and serves as a positive example to students.
